The reason for me becoming a Christian was not through a dramatic experience in my life. I didn't
lose a loved one or encounter some other hardship, instead I just noticed a change. The change I
noticed was the effect that the Lord had made on other people's lives who were close to me. I saw
this change and decided I wanted and needed the influence that Jesus has on one's life. I
committed my life to the Lord and he has guided me ever since. If I look back on my life to date, an
analogy called "Footprints" written by an unknown author, best shows how the Lord has been with
me.
God has given me a talent to play cricket and I try to use this talent to play cricket and I try to
use this talent to His glory and because I'm a Christian doesn't mean, I don't work hard at my
game, or that I'm not as competitive as the rest of the sportsmen. People tend to think of
Christians as being a bit "soft" but I can tell you that they are as "hard" as the next man.
Christianity does help me to keep things in perspective both on and off the field. Although I try to
perform to the best of my ability at all times, I try with God's help to keep a level outlook on my
achievements and performances.
God Bless.
