Introduction:

Hello Everyone Again, Welcome to my web page on my favorite television show Days of our Lives. I remember my mom watching it when I was in kindergarten. I didn't like it, because it wasn't a cartoon and it didn't make me laugh. I can recall vaguely some events going on at that time. Years went by and on Wednesday, July 14, 1993 I watched it, because I was bored. It actual intrigued me, so I watched it the next day, by Friday I was hooked. In junior high and high school I would program it on the VCR. Even today I still tape it when I can't watch it live. I've taped so many episodes I could have a library. I even have magazines, shirts, and classic episodes including the very first episode that premiered on NBC, November 8, 1965. What else can I say I think I deserve Outstanding Fan in a Daytime Drama Series.
History:

This is the history of Days of our Lives from what I know, so bear with me. Ted Corday, Irna Phillips, and Alan Chase created Days of our Lives. It premiered on NBC on November 8, 1965 at 2:00 pm it was 30 minutes. It was the first soap opera to premiere in living color. The first scene involved a character named Julie Olsen and her friends at Baron's Department Store she had tried to steal a Stoll. As they were about to walk off, the security guard and store manager seen her and stop her. Another scene in the first episode was the character Dr. Tom Horton played by the late McDonald Carey from 1965-1994. Also in that scene was the character Alice Horton, Tom's Wife played by Frances Reid who is still on the show. The scene took place in their living room. Another scene included Mickey Horton the son of Tom and Alice played by John Clarke who is still on the show. The episode was ended with Julie crying, because she got caught stealing the Stoll and she was trying to get everyone to feel sorry for her. In 1966, Days of our Lives was ranked 32 out of the 34 shows on daytime. Days had 13 weeks to improve their ratings or get canceled. Today they are ranked at number 2 to 3. In demographics they are ranked #1 (woman 18 to 40)

At the compound, Marlena remembers being told that she did the right thing, and she wouldn't regret it. John asks her who said that, and what did he think she wouldn't regret? Marlena says it was Stefano. She says she was singing a lullaby, and the grief was unbearable. John asks her why she was grieving? Marlena knows she abandoned the twins, and that is what Stefano meant. Marlena says she feels in her heart that she is their mother, and she abandoned them. John tells her that if she is their mother, they will find out. They begin poking around, and end up in the room where Marlena was kept all those years. She has more memories of the operating room, but no new memories are coming to her. John wonders if the room is set-up differently, and maybe that is the reason she is not remembering. Suddenly, John triggers a secret room to open. Marlena says "it is happening, I remember!" The end up finding a room much like an OR with a bunch of medical supplies, which Marlena says could be used to deliver a baby. John says this proves nothing, and even if she did give birth to the twins they ceased being her children long ago. Marlena is stunned by John's statement. John says they were trained to be DiMera's pawns, but Marlena says they are still her children and what he is saying is cruel. John says it is reality, and whether or not she gave birth to them, those twins are dangerous. Marlena remains him that he was once Stefano's pawn. Marlena calls him a hypocrite, but John says when he was under Stefano's control he hurt people he loved, and he will not let those twins hurt her or Belle. Marlena says if she is the twins' mother, and they are half Dimera, the twins will tear them apart because he will only see them as DiMeras. John says this is what DiMera wants, he wants to divide and conquer them. However, John vows he won't let that happen to them.

At Jack and Jen's, Jen gets ready to take her pregnancy test, but before she can open it, Abby runs into the room. She is glad to see that her dad is still here. She asks if he is moving back home, and he says that he is. Jack tells Abby that he's never leaving her or her mother again, no matter what happens. Later, over breakfast, Jen tells Jack about how Abby is excelling in writing and poetry in school. Jen tells Jack that she takes after him. Jack says she is a good writer as well, but Jen says he is the wordsmith, she can just put an article together. Jack tells Jen that Abby is also kind, courageous, and strong like her mother. Jen says she's not feeling very courageous right now. They talk more about Abby, and she has always wanted them back together, and a little brother or sister. Jen wonders how they will tell her if she is pregnant? Jack says they'll figure that out together. Jen decides to take the pregnancy test. She goes upstairs, and later comes down with the test. She tells Jack that the test is negative. Jack and Jen are overjoyed by the news. Jen then gets a call from Bo asking her for her help. Bo tells Jen about the towel, and how he thinks Larry Welch is still alive and is haunting Hope. Jen is stunned, and Jack asks her what is wrong? Jen tells Jack what is going on with Hope, Collin's murder, and that Larry is possibly alive. Jen tells Jack that nobody can no about this, it cannot go to print. Jack knows and he says they must protect the family. Jen hugs Jack and tells him that she loves him.

At the station, Bo begins to wonder if Larry could be alive. Hope asks Bo what is bothering him? Bo says he is just thinking about a case he's working on, and that he should get back to it. He tells Hope to go home and put her feet up. She says she'll let him get back to work and head out. Bo wants one of the officers to drive her home because of the medicine she is on, but Hope says she's not taking it anymore. She doesn't want to argue about it, and he still insists the officer drive her home. She says okay. After Hope leaves, Bo makes a call and orders around the clock protection for his family. However, he later learns that the officer who dropped Hope off left her there alone with Shawn. Bo races out of the station.

Outside Bo and Hope's, Shawn finds his mom's discarded pills. Cassie asks what the pills are for, and he tells her. Larry spies on them as they look at the pills, and he realizes Hope threw them out. Cassie tells Shawn that maybe he should take them because they may make him feel better. Shawn says the pills aren't for him, but she says that doesn't matter. Shawn says these pills won't change the fact that he killed someone. Cassie wishes she could help Shawn, but she knows she can't because she is not Belle. Cassie asks Shawn if he regrets not confiding in her? Shawn says all he cares about is that the people he loves are safe, and he wants to know why his mom threw out the medicine. Hope returns home, and Shawn asks her about the medicine? Hope says she threw it out because she doesn't need it anymore. Hope tells Shawn that everything will work out. A spying Larry continues to plot against Hope and her family. Hope goes inside, and Shawn stays outside with Cassie. Cassie continues to try and get Shawn to take the pills, and he lashes out at her. He apologizes, and says that nothing helps him, and a pill won't take away what he did. He says he is the reason that another man is dead. Bo shows up and asks what he means by that? Shawn thinks quick and says he feels that he and Belle are responsible for Collin's death because if they had seen something earlier that night when they were on the terrace than he might have been able to stop Collin's murder. Shawn knows it is stupid, and he says he's just been freaked out ever since mom's kidnapping. Bo asks Cassie to excuse them, and he talks with Shawn about the possibility that Larry is still alive. Bo says he's hired some undercover cops to guard the house, and he says he will catch Larry. Bo walks off, and Shawn looks at the pills.

Inside, Hope makes some tea, but sees something outside that causes her to drop her mug. She has a flashback to Collin's body, and a spying Larry says it looks like Hope is going over the edge without the pills. Hope wishes she could remember what happened. Suddenly, she looks up to find Cassie standing there. Cassie asks Hope what she wishes she could remember? Cassie apologizes for intruding, and then she notices the broken glass on the floor. Hope says she meant to clean that up. Cassie helps Hope clean up, and eventually leaves after getting some water for her and Shawn. Hope begins to try and figure out what part of her memories are real, and what parts were in her head. Later, Hope falls asleep and has a nightmare about killing Larry and Collin. She also sees, through a window, someone pointing a gun, and she says Shawn's name!

Cassie goes back to Shawn, who blows up yet again. Shawn says his mom isn't safe, it is all happening again, and he doesn't know what to do. Cassie begs Shawn to just take a pill. He does as Cassie asks and downs one of the pills.

Meanwhile, Bo finds another matchbook from the Dew Drop Inn, the place Larry is staying. Back at the Dew Drop Inn, Larry has returned to his room and is furious that Hope has thrown away her pills and that damn Alien Barbie has convinced Shawn to take the pills. Later, we see Bo breaking down the door to a room at the Dew Drop Inn.
