There are 8 steps to change the oil in your Saturn:
- Find a comfy place to park the car, in the shade in summer,
in the sun in winter.
- Get the waste oil pan, filter wrench, and 14mm box end wrench ready.
- Find 4 quarts of 5W-30 oil and a Saturn oil filter.
It is really important, or so the folks at Saturn tell me, to use 5W-30 oil and genuine Saturn oil filters.
- Remove the oil drain plug, and drain the old oil into the waste oil pan.
- Remove the Filter...then clean up the mess you made.
- Replace the oil drain plug after the oil stops dripping.
- Put the new oil filter on, 1/4 turn past finger tight.
Always remember to put just a bit of oil on the rubber gasket before you put the oil filter back on. This will make a better seal, and help you get the filter tightened correctly.
- Put 4 quarts of 5W-30 oil into the engine.
