There are 8 steps to change the oil in your Saturn:
  1. Find a comfy place to park the car, in the shade in summer, in the sun in winter.
  2. Get the waste oil pan, filter wrench, and 14mm box end wrench ready.
  3. Find 4 quarts of 5W-30 oil and a Saturn oil filter.
It is really important, or so the folks at Saturn tell me, to use 5W-30 oil and genuine Saturn oil filters.
  1. Remove the oil drain plug, and drain the old oil into the waste oil pan.
  2. Remove the Filter...then clean up the mess you made.
  3. Replace the oil drain plug after the oil stops dripping.
  4. Put the new oil filter on, 1/4 turn past finger tight.
Always remember to put just a bit of oil on the rubber gasket before you put the oil filter back on. This will make a better seal, and help you get the filter tightened correctly.
  1. Put 4 quarts of 5W-30 oil into the engine.
