The Cavalcade of Lights, along with the cast of the musical Oliver, kicked off the skating season at Toronto's famous outdoor rink at Nathan Phillips Square.

Although Skaters are welcome at the Square's rink from November 15, the season does not truly start until the 100,000 lights make Nathan Phillips Square shine, and the 65 foot Christmas tree is lit up in all its glory.

The rink is open to the public from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm. Brng your skates, and glide on the ice beneath the famous arches over the Square. If you don't have your own skates, rentals are available.

KITCHENER-Do you store your beloved bicycle for the winter, waiting until summer to pull it out again?

Wait no longer, a new invention is allowing bicycle enthusiasts to ride their bikes all year long.

Mario Araujo, president of the company Cycleski Inc., has invented a unique product to transform your regular bike into a ski bike.

Developed and manufactured in Kitchener, the cycle ski is perfect for trail riding, cross country, parks and in cottage country.

"Simply put, Cycleski is a patent-pending ski attachment that replaces the front wheel of any existing mountain bike," explains Araujo. "We have designed the Cycleski to provide extreme stability and responsive handling for all snow and ice conditions."

The Cycleski attachment transforms a regular bike into a ski bike within minutes, and will adapt to all after-market and factory front forks.

"We thought of everything during the design phase and the brake component was not overlooked," assures Araujo. "Our patent-pending concept design incorporates the bike's existing front brake lever to activate Cycleski's brake mechanism."
