Men

Now I dont want this to be a man-bashing rant, but what the hell is wrong with men?

It just seems that they dont have a clue. Sometimes women just want a nice simple relationship. Lets see:

1) Meet somewhere.
2) Woman gives man her number.
3) Man calls woman.
4) Man asks woman out for dinner.
5) Man and woman go out for dinner, man pays.
6) Man takes woman home, kisses her good night, leaves.
7) Man calls woman within the next few days.

How difficult is that? For the first time in about 2 years, I saw this happen tonight with my sister. I was in utter shock and disbelief.

Wow, a man who actually calls after giving him your number. You mean, he didnt get all scared and not call? And, when they met at the pub, he took a cab home with her, even though he lives in Burlington, which is the complete opposite way. He tried to pay for her cab, even though he new he wasnt coming in. And, he called her the next week! Wow.

Sorry, Im in awe. I have to say, I dont see this often.

Yeah, Im all for womens rights, blah blah blah. I mean, Im stronger than most of the truck drivers who deliver stuff to my warehouse. I run a warehouse, which is typically a mans job.

BUT am I old fashioned in thinking the above numerical list is a good outline for dating? Am I setting women and society back fifty years? I dont know. I DO know that I yearn for romancing, or at least the man taking initiative to call and ask me out for dinner, maybe even hold a car door open for me.

Im not saying the man always has to pay. Hell, after the first date, and when he calls me, I would ask him to dinner and pay. Taking turns is good. I just want to know there are gentlemen out there who can treat a woman with respect.

And if thats old-fashioned, Id take it to the way men are now.
