When Harry Met Sally | 1989
this movie asks the universal question, "can men and women be just friends?" it came out in 1989, but still remains one of my all-time favorites. billy crystal and meg ryan are perfect in their roles and they deliver their witty dialogue with sheer genius. this is one of the best romantic comedies out there...
Sling Blade | 1996
billy bob thornton stars as karl childers, a simple man who has been hospitalized since his childhood for murdering his mother and her lover. the movie picks up when he is released to start a new life in a small town. although, a little odd, this is a very moving film...
The Shawshank Redemption | 1994
tim robbins stars in the steven king movie about the life of an inmate named andy dufresne who is convicted and jailed for the murder of his wife. the movie takes a look at the friendships and hardships endured in prison. it's an amazing film and definitely worth setting aside a couple of hours to watch...
The Bridges of Madison County | 1995
this is the story of a lonely housewife, francesca johnson, whose life is changed when a traveling photographer, robert kincaid, finds his way into her heart. clint eastwood and meryl streep are fabulous in this movie, letting you into the hearts of these two people who share a precious moment in time. i have never met a man who will admit to enjoying this movie, but trust me, it is a must see...
Grease | 1978
grease is the word.... this is just a fun movie about the friendships of a group of high school teenagers in the 50's. john travolta and olivia newton-john, who star as danny and sandy, are charming in their roles. it's a brilliant musical/comedy, and it's worth watching over, and over, and over...
Gone in 60 Seconds | 2000
an action packed movie starring nicholas cage as a retired car theif who must return with his crew to steal 50 cars in one night to save his brother's life. not a deep script, but great action scenes with excting car chases. i don't usually enjoy movies that nicholas cage is in, but this one is an exception...
Gone With The Wind | 1939
an amazing movie with the characters of Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler brought to life by Vivien Leigh and Clarke Gable... it's a very long movie... but watch it... i also recommend reading the book, as the movie leaves out certain parts...
Fight Club | 1999
an odd movie about a man who is disillusioned with life and meets an exciting stranger who introduces him to a new way of life. Brad Pitt and Edward Norton star in this film about mischief and mayhem, with a little surprise waiting at the end. you'll either hate it or you'll love it, but it's definitely worth seeing...
