Madanmohan Tarkalankar was born in Nakashipara village of Nadia district in the year 1897. Ramdhan Chattopadhyay was his father.He had great contributions for child & female education in Bengal. The nursery rhyme "Pakhi sab kare rab rati pohalo .... "(ie The dawn is breaking & birds chirruping...) is learnt almost by every Bangalee kid.He had a long career in teaching .He was the Pandit of Krishnanagar Government College from January to June -1846.He died of Cholera on 9 th March 1858 in Kandi,Murshidabad district.
