Modified Laparoscopic Female Sterilization

The most common method of laparoscopic female sterilization is use of silastic bands in our country. It is an excellent method. However the ischemic knuckles of the fallopian tube created by application of the silastic bands can produce iliac fossa pain for prolonged period postoperatively. In the modification I have developed, I cut of the knuckle of the fallopian tube above the silastic band laparoscopically. These pateients do not experience the ischemic pain postoperatively.
