This was a close match to start the season off with and should have finished 2 � 2 as opposed to 3 � 3.
The first half was tight with BOTN probably just edging it. Both defences were strong and a neat goal was scored by Foshy, but although he put the chance away, he really should not have been given the opportunity. The most notable point of the 1st half was Graham going in for a challenge, which ended his game. It looks like he has strained/fractured/broken his ankle.
The 2nd half was started with 4 men as Spanton & Andy were looking out for the ambulance. This half started badly as Martin scored by the ball going through the side netting. Everyone saw that this was not a goal, except the ref who gave it. We managed to pull a goal back after a strike from Paul, whilst still being a man down. At this point Spanton made his return to go back up to full strength, but we quickly conceded a 3rd. We continued going forward and after a strike from Tom (after the throw was supposed to be BOTN�S) and an own goal from Billy, we managed to draw level.
Overall this was a tough match, but a fair result. The two errors by the ref that lead to the goals cancelled each other out. This was decent start to the season and is something to build on. One last point I would like to mention is that James C couldn�t play as he was a bit ill. |
