"The greater the difficulty, the more the glory in surmounting it." -Epicurus ."
The Quest

Knight errant, where are you? I've a missive for thee
Come to my side here, and please take a knee
It's hastily written, the ink is still wet
I'll seal it with red wax, and press my signet

Are you due for a journey, my bold chevalier?
You desire a quest, you shall get it I fear
The journey be long, and twill sure test your skill,
But you will succeed, if you have a strong will.

This message is written by my hand and quill
Keep it safely beside thee; this be not a drill!
You will ride over moor, over incline so steep
You will ford a calm stream, then find it too deep

Though your mount does so tire, you will press on.
None will you rest, you shall ride to the dawn.
Alone you shall ride, no brethren beside you
All you shall have is this poor map to guide you

Take this poor map, for sufficient it be
Guideing you to a task beneath yonder tree
Yon tree there is hollow, reach deeply within,
Pull out the small bundle, let the challenge begin!

Carry thine bundle to the top of yon crest
You may stop now, dismount, do take rest
When you're truly alone, and you've gathered your wit
Take in hand my parchment, and quietly sit

Let no one bear witness, please let no one see
Now have you guessed? This parchment's for thee!
Read it forwards and back, each line's in between
Read it now handsome one, till meaning is seen.

When you've read enough, and the meaning is clear,
You will mount up refreshed, and travel back here.
Do you now understand, my fearless bold knight?
Do you so truly see, do you now know your plight?

The quest so rough, so with danger fraught
Was symbolic you see, but no web has you caught
Symbolic of your life, if you live it with me
An arduous hard quest, with difficulty

But upon this quest dear, you shall not be alone
I will be beside you, always there to condone
Your life lived with me, will be truly a test,
But life without me? This can not be best!

On my order you rode, with a missive held tight
Your journey was hard, and you rode all the night
Yet you did it my love, you well made the ride
Might it not be sweeter with me by your side?
