Be Quiet, Be Still

Just be quiet, just be still
Lie upon a velvet hill
Do not doubt peace will come
To you who listen to the drum
Nature's rhythm sweet and slow
Breath it in, and let it go!

Step into that deep, green wild
Become again the wondering child
Creation's illustrated page
Casts away your cloak of age
Look upon a bright new leaf
To see the tree within the tree

Hear the grass joyfully grow
Listen to wisdom whispered low
From rustling leaves into the breeze
Blowing warmth delights the trees
With song that few are privy to
Primal sophistication true

Morning sun trickles, dappling
From your shielding canopy
Of stately oak so stoic proud
Still, but animated by the wind
It's eternal partner in dance
Timeless rhythm to entrance

Just be quiet, just be still
Lie upon a velvet hill
Do not doubt peace will come
To them that listen to the drum
Nature's rhythm sweet and slow
Breath it in, and let it go!
