| I for not updating this page during the month of January
1997. Sharon and I have been quite busy recuperating from our various ailments and we are both doing fairly well. Sharons speech is vastly improved but she still has problems with concepts involving more than one subject or steps. On the physical therapy side she has made great improvement and is relearning how to walk (with the aid of a walker), step up one step, and several personal issues. It is a tremendous joy to be able to spend a portion of my life with this woman. Her deficits pale next to her love for life and acceptance of her limitations. I know that it had been me in her situation I would be angry with life, god, and everyone around me. I would strike out in my anger at anyone or anything that came near. Sharon is just not like that. She says to be thankful it isn't worse than it is. I asked her "How could it have been worse?" Her simple, one word answer sobered me: "Vegetate." |
