A Viewer of American Idol...
A Blog that revolves around American Idol of the past- my favs from Season One to the present. This is my take!
American Idol Finale that belongs to David Cook

According to DialIdol, David Cook is the winner of American Idol Season 7.

Watching the finale last night, you would think it's a close call or a match entirely made for David Archuleta to win. Simon Cowell was acting as if America will listen to him. Though Paula seems to know better who should win.

It really comes down to personal preference in this finale. Like who would you like to listen to in the long run. My hubby told me that David Archuleta had a good voice, but not enough for him to listen to his music continuously. He said that David Cook has a better sounding voice that he'd listen to his music and won't get tired and get bored with it. My hubby agreed that he doesn't have to sing a song on the finals that he already sang before the finale-- it's a progression, just like what David Cook said. He showed many facets of his talents throughout the show and this is another way to show it.

We all knew that through the entire top 12, David Cook was consistently and slowly gaining ground. He never made mistakes by forgetting the lyrics. He constantly brought his performances up to par. He beat everyone with ITunes downloads of his performances. Many downloaded the songs he sang than the rest of the other contestants, including David Archuleta's performances could not compete with David Cook's much, much better performances on Idol Seven.

Based on these observations, David Cook deserves to win the title. The first rocker to win Idol. And it seems most Americans feel the same way. DialIdol indicated that David Cook has 40.93 DialIdol score compared to David A's 29.37. Margin of error for David C is 1.583 and David A is 1.73. David Cook is much, much ahead on phone votes. In fact, I could barely get through last night. I probably was able to put in about 5 votes in the entire 4 hours. I texted a lot of votes for David Cook though, I don't know how many but a lot because that's the easiest way to get in the votes for him. I have IPhone, and texting is the coolest thing to do on IPhone.

I told myself that I would not vote again, but once an American Idol voter is always a voter, especially when it's needed by a contestant that I believe deserves my votes. I only voted for David Cook last night and never did on the entire run of season 7, with the exception of Jason Castro who I voted consistently for two weeks before he was eliminated.

If it's rigged, I would know tonight for sure, won't I? If DialIdol is saying that David Cook got the most phone votes and David Archuleta wins it, my assumption that the AI management has the last say really holds true. I know that those who were not able to vote on phone for David Cook would tex vote as much as I did because they believe that Simon Cowell is wrong with his prediction of who should win.
