A Viewer of American Idol...
A Blog that revolves around American Idol of the past- my favs from Season One to the present. This is my take!
Renaldo Lapuz--- We're Brothers Forever

I haven't yet tuned in to the new American Idol season this year, but certainly, something caught my eye when I was visiting a Filipino website mentioning about a Filipino guy who auditioned in Dallas, Texas-- and was being compared to William Hung.

I did a research on Yahoo and I was shocked of the different things written about him on weblogs and webpages and; he was even featured on UTube, 2 pages full. My curiosity got the best of me, so I checked UTube and watched his audition. At first, I was not so sure how to react. I am a Filipino, so my initial reaction was what is this 44 year old man doing in this show? They gave him about 10 minutes maybe, to sing his composition. The tune sounded very Filipino to me, but the more I listened to it, the song started to grow on me. It's very catchy and very entertaining. It's a tribute to a friend that you care very much about. I checked the other UTube videos of other people singing his songs. And the more I listened to the song, I felt good about it.

Renaldo did not come across to me as a laughing stock of the show, as what other Filipinos are saying about him on their weblogs; he was very sincere and he truly feels that Simon deserves to be complimented for what he has done for the show. He wanted for Simon to hear the song; and Simon obliged to listen to the whole song. Renaldo almost broke down at the end of his Idol clip, and was happy that he got a chance to be on the show. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Wherever this will take him, I'd like to hear the song with professional accompaniment and maybe just twick it a little bit so it will not be all chorus throughout the song. But it has potential-- very catchy and I know I will end up singing it when I wake up Sunday morning. May you have good fortune, Renaldo, with that song. Godspeed! Most of the time, the humble ones get rewarded.

"I am your brother
Your best friend forever
Singing the songs
The music that you like
We're brothers til the end of time
Together forever til the end of time
I am your brother
Your best friend forever
Singing the songs
The music that you like
We're brothers til the end of time
Together or not, you're always in my heart
Your hurting feelings
Will reign no more."
