Purpose

 

Technology training and college preparation for low-income populations

 

Introduction

Closing the Digital Gap (CDG) is a community program that provides access to technology for low-income populations. LCC is currently partnering with CDG to provide technology and college readiness training to low-income academically under-prepared individuals. This program is called the Intensive Academic Bridge. Participants in the program complete the 48 credit hour training that leads to Microsoft Office Specialist Certification in Word Core and Excel Core, as well as college readiness for other college certificate programs.

Fall 2003 class schedule:           January 10, 2004 through May 7. 2004.

 

Credit Load:                 12 credits per semester (full time)

 

Class time:                    Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday

                                    5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

 

Location:                      Black Child and Family Institute (BCFI)

                                     835 W Genesee, Lansing MI  48915

 

Childcare:                     For those who qualify, childcare will be provided on site at BCFI
