| 'Beware of the Sharks on the park'. This jingle took on real meaning when the Dargaville Ford Western sharks took two from two against Whangarei Old Boys at R.D.1 Park last Saturday. | ||||||
| The Beaurepaires premiers slammed old boys 48 - 7, The Sharks just had a bit too much grunt fore and arft for Old boys who are finding their step up to premier club rugby a tough ask. All the Sharks players went great guns, and apart from a ten minute period mid second half, when they appeared to be resting on a thirty point cushion, the Sharks kept up a good tempo all match. | ||||||
| For the Sharks, tries were scored by, Tony Stokes (2) Craig Williamson, Sione Easu, Mark Russell, Solomone Palu, Jeremy Hutchinson and Siosifa Mafi, with Jamie Kay converting four. Caters Players of the Day were Ryan Boyd and Mark Russell. Referee Dave Owen controlled proceedings well. | ||||||
| The Morfett autos Western sharks reserve team also had a good outing, beating Whangarei old boys reserves 33 - 3 in the curtain rasier with tries to: Hamish Stokes, Osai Tukumoeatu and Lyle Burgess, Colin Rowse, Stone Maake, Siope Lavaka slotted four conversions.
