| In the Premier game, it did though require the Sharks to pull off something of a Houdini act, scoring a try two minutes from full time to clinch the win. The Sharks pack did well enough most of the game, particularly in set pieces and produced some very good rolling mauls. It was from their superiority in this facet, that both of their trys eventuated. The winning try right near full time coming after the sharks had rolled the Waipu pack back more then fifty meters to enable Number eight Maake Onesi crashing over twice for the touch downs | |||||||
| The Sharks backs has something of a disjointed outing, bombing a couple of certain tries by failing to make that vital last pass, and not taking advantage in the first half, of a fresh wind to keep their opponents pinned back with kicks to the corner, something the Waipu number 10 Toby Phillips did well in the second half. The Sharks first try was converted by Jamie Kay. Carters players of the day were Mark Russell and Scott McDermott. Marius Botha was an able referee. | |||||||
| The Western Sharks Morfett Autos reserve team, cleaned out Waipu with a grand effort in the early match. Cameron Smith again opened the Scoring for his team with two well kicked penalty's. The trys were scored by Prop Thomas TePaa, Wingers Steven and Tane Hamish Stokes and replacement Flanker Lyle Burgess. Smith added two conversions. The Empire liquor center players of the days were Hayden Lang and Steven Tane. Steve Matene refereed the match well.. | |||||||
