                                        MEDICAL INFORMATION

Med supplies are kept in med kits scattered throughout camp. Every Master has one at His furs and there is one on the Dais. The Med Wagon will contain extra which are ready to go when needed. The Med Kits need to be checked each day and at the end of each raid and spar. It is best to be prepared ahead of time and not wait until it is needed.

A slaves's best bet is to always trust their gut when it comes to healing a Master, their first instincts are
what truly count.

After a raid or spar there is much commotion going on around a girl so she must be able to stay focused,
and attend to the Master who's very life may lay in their hands.

Treat each Master as if it were her own during a spar, They need to know that a girl's eyes are only on
Them and that only Their presence matters to a girl. If a girl gets flustered or confused as to what she is
doing ALWAYS ask the first girl.

No two wounds are the same although treatment may be the same. Each one should be treated in the best manner a girl can.

Never be afraid to ask for help sisters work together always.

All the supplies for healing are kept in the Medical Wagon.

***A girl is NEVER to touch a weapon with her bare hands, ALWAYS grasp the weapon with a rep cloth to remove it from the Rarius, after receiving permission to use it***

***girls and Free MUST wash their hands and rinse in green paga before tending to wounds, lest they add to the chance of infection***

                      Here are the basic steps for healing a Master/Mistress:

1. Before a raid, the first girl, or 2nd girl, if kajira Coordinator not available, shall assign slaves to certain raiders, and the 1st and 2 nd girls shall be responsible for placing the irons upon the fire to be getting hot. This is in case Someone has a bleed which needs cauterizing.

1 Ask the Master to tell a girl of His wounds. (if during a spar it is the girl's responsibility to keep track of
injuries as she has been there during the whole spar)

2. Assess the wounds ALWAYS tending to the most severe first, offer kanda leaf (always remind the
Rarius to chew and NOT swallow.) Or now days WillowBark is used, due to it not being addivtive.

3. Using a rep cloth wipe the wound clean of blood and dirt, then cleanse the wound with sterile water (all of the supplies will be kept in a med kit beside each Master's furs, and Med Wagon.
STERILE WATER IS TO BE USED INSTEAD OF PAGA UNLESS DOING FIELD DRESSINGS.
Field Dressings: assess the wound and if not very serious place bandage then return to it after all other more serious wounds healed even if other Warriors wounds.

4. Wipe the wound clean again, assess the depth of the wound, apply salve to the wound. Apply kanda
salve to numb the wound for stitching. Always apply hard pressure to any bleeding wounds that will not stop bleeding, sometimes this will stop the bleeding.

5. If needing stitches wait till the wound is numb and carefully stitch the wound closed, using small
stitches herringbone stitches..but if an area such as elbow/knee requiring more durable stitches..then
use Mattress stitches which will hold up better.(IF ARTERIAL BLEEDING Call a PHYSICIAN/HEALER).

6. If needing more than stitches and needing to be seared shut gather an iron and placing it within the wound sealing it shut, no longer than 5 ihns any longer could cause more tissue damage than already present. Only Venous wounds are seared.(NEVER STITICH AFTER SEARING) .

7. Pour more sterile water over the wound, then apply more salve and bandage with strips of sterile rep cloth.

8. Ask Master to please drink the herbal healing tea containing the green herbal healing powders as it will speed His healing and fight against infection.

9. If there is moderate blood loss, a restorative broth should be given to restore lost fluids. ONLY A
HEALER/PHYSICIAN CAN ADMINISTER IV.

10. If at ANY time a girl feels she is over her head PM first girl or trainer for assistance.

A girl will NOT get to choose Whom she heals it will be assigned by the first girl or 2nd girl if they are
in camp, or a trainer. girls in personal ko'lars will heal their own Masters first then offer to help their sisters if tending to more than one Master, field dress the wounds of the first Master then assess the 2nd Master dressing more severe wounds of Any first.

Once a girl is done and All are tended to she may kiss the ouchies that Master has and cuddle with Him,
serve Him if required.

Note: If Y/you use a Med Kit--Restock soon as possible.

Medical supplies are kept in medkits throughout the Camp and in the med Cabin next to servery. They are to be checked and restocked the beginning of each day and after every spar and raid.

Goreans are rarely sick. Many toxins are found though and a Gorean may be poisoned or injured, though they do heal amazingly fast. A severed limb can be reattached and fully functional in three days. The
same with broken bones. A wound unless needing stitching only needs to be cleaned and lightly coated with antiseptic salve.

Wounds that require cauterizing for blood loss and suturing or just suturing will take only a couple of days to heal. Bruises take merely a day, sprains a couple of days. They are treated with herbal liniments and ice or soaks in the hot springs. Poisons work fast. Usually noted by the third heartbeat of the slave testing the food and she will be dead by the 10th heartbeat but full recovery if given milk and honey and the antidote is swift. It only takes a couple of hours and the slave is back to work.

Some of the herbs available are kanda leaf, a poisonous narcotic if ingested but when chewed, numbs the body thus relieving pain. Too much chewed will also poison. This can be ground fine and added to salve of boiled lards, steamed to purify and is used as kanda leaf salve which numbs the skin its applied to.

A green herbal powder of antiseptic properties is available to add to paga for a sterilizing anti-infective purpose. It can be used to bathe wounds and it may also be sprinkled on dressing wound. Also, it is a good idea to wash hands with this before treating injuries to prevent possibility of infection. Infections are almost unheard of. Valerian (sleeping aid) is used in the herbal tea with small amounts of kanda. This tea aids in prevention of infection, pain relief and making One sleepy. Willow bark may be added to teas for bruises, strains or head injury or used alone for headaches. As well as chewed for mild pain. Peppermint is used in teas along with ginger to relieve indigestion. Very rare lemon and honey and ginger in tea is a restorative for sore throats which is very rare, almost unheard of, in a Gorean.

There is also a kettle of boiling water and restorative broth constantly simmering. keep checking this throughout the day too. The cauterizing irons are left in the coals to be ever ready and there is a verr skin bota of paga there as well, to be kept warm. For bathing wounds, add green powder right before using the paga.

One thing I ask above all things, well, except letting S/someone die.....*G*....I expect all to work well together....it does not matter if you like each other or not. W/we are a team....without E/each other....there can be no Home. So, as Ubara, I expect to see team work. When possible, and if needed....go to each other when you are done and see if a brother/sister needs help. AND....I better NEVERRRRRRRRRR here it told that a slave refused to help or give information to another slave who did not know how to do something. If any such thing happens, it best be brought to Me, Shanna/Ramer, or sheena{Ramer} or saffron{KWC}. Such behavior shall nay be tolerated and shall be punishable. W/we are F/family and W/we shall act as one....love and care for E/each O/other.

I can personally say that I would put Myself in danger and die for any of My F/family M/members in trying to protect them or care for them and nothing would stop Me...though Ramer thinks so *Grins*

Basically I wished to impart the closenes of a Home and F/family and what it means to Us as Kassar, The Blood People. I know My FC and Ubar Ramer does not wish Me to say such things, but tis the way I am. I am a loving Woman and caring Woman. I will fight for A/all in My F/family and protect all that I can. I would willingly die for any slave here if I could protect them. My love grows strong and is all encompassing. I only desire the best for A/all of O/our Home. I love Y/you A/all..
