a fun thing to do outside of their teaching jobs, it quickly became apparent that something more could come out of this musical venture.
Upon graduating form the University of of North Texas, the guys invited Jorge Valenciano to add some lead and rhythm guitars. The core of the group was now formed. As time went on, the repetroire began to grow. Soon the group had enough songs to consider bringing in a drummer. Thus entered Michael Boswell. Boswell added a new dimension which was missing from the group. Now that the group had solidified, it was time to go out and perform.
The band's first gig was a private party for some of Javier and Felix's co-workers which gave the band an opportunity to show off their musical talents. After a rough start, the group became more comfortable and rocked on to a strong finish. Soon after, however for whatever reason, the group lost its drummer who went on to play drums for another local rock group, Quinn. The search was on for a new drummer to take Boswell's place. Since Share the Road was sans rhythm section, the core continued to learn and perfect its varied repetroire. With the addition of more music, the need for a drummer increased. So the search began again.
After being invited to a side project, Jorge met a drummer named Erick Santos who also played in the project. After the project disbanded, Erick joined the band. Again, the group was complete. It was short lived, however, and the group decided to stay with the core and go acoustic. After adapting the music for an acoustic setting, the band began playing at a bar called the Kooler. With a few performances under its belt, Share the Road once again looked for a drummer and invited Erick to continue with the group - permanently or as a sit-in guest for non-acoustic gigs. The band is now as strong as ever and looks to continue performing and increasing its repertoire. Look for Share the Road at your nearest bar.
