Gone!
So close we were;
We used to be
That I thought you may have been
The one for me
But now you’ve left
And I remain in the afterglow of your
Company
And I am dead and left to rot
Like a branch torn from it’s motherly
Tree
Gone!
A whisper of wind
A trickle of water
A whisper of sounds
To chase after
A falling fledgling
Descends from the nest
Its wings flap uselessly
Soon it will rest
Along with my thoughts
And my fantasies and loves
Dead and rotting up on the ground
Where soon they will never be need or want to be found
Many a time when the stars had come out
And the sun had fled to the moon
I’d listen and care and talk and comfort
And now I wonder what has it wrought?
I served you it seems but then the time came
Where others served your needs better
And now I realise I was part of a game
And for a selfish reason you left me in a gutter
Gone!
So close we were;
We used to be
That I thought you may have been
The one for me
But now you’ve left
And I remain in the afterglow of your
Company
And I am dead and left to rot
Like a branch torn from it’s motherly
Tree
