Dark One

Born on the…

Coldest time

Of the longest night

She first came into the sight

Of the ones she came to hate

Not woman born

She bore no horn

But the mark of something pained

For this was the one

Who would forsake all…

And one who would not be enslaved…

The darkness it grew slowly

Manifesting over time

Then when she became fully grown

That day the darkness came…

Came and claimed it's own…

No figment of fools thoughts

Of creations of ones unknown

Untouchable, unreachable

Gods and demons

Where had their will been known?

She watched and saw a long time

Long it took them to see the truth

Consumed within themselves

As a child who's lost a tooth

For conscience sake they'd pause awhile

Stopping, thinking

Giving once

As if they made a difference

Blindness being the common trait

Woe on those who have to wait

It did not take long for the hate

To have her hating for hate's sake

As a dog bitch licks at her plate

This was no morbid fancy

Hate as real as death itself

And just as powerful

She thought no more as they had done

The 'good' inside had gone

Egos flared and dwindle

Like candles in the breeze

And in thinking gaining for the self

Was fine if just one knew

How so then just thinking black thoughts

Was a crime in their own view?

She watched and walked among them

Her eyes and ears afire

So unlike her company

Uncaring for desire

She was awake and heard alone

The things they were as stone

Death such a great evil

Was as rife as a knife

On a butchers table

And so common among their own

Twisting it was their doing

Bending 'till it breaks

Unheeding of the aftermath

Running blindly down wrong paths

Then hiding from the inevitable wrath

Until the bastard thing has passed

Then trying things again…

She hated them for what they were

The work of their ignorance

And their own decay

Learning after the lesson's taught

Forgetting the pain that had been wrought

Then they'd spread their disease to those who'd thought

They were safe from dirt and shit they brought

That they were safe from the taint of sin

She could not stand it for much more

She had to travel through a door

That would lead away from them

So carved a blade into her flesh

And uttering words with her last breath

Wished that she could start afresh

Away from this humanity

Away from this race of greed
