From Christine, a Junior Scout:
Amsterdam, Netherlands
When we got to the Netherlands we rode a metro into Amsterdam. Then we walked to the Hotel Agora and dropped our stuff off.
Then we walked to the Rijks Museum.  We saw a very famous painting called Nightwatch. We also saw a lot of other paintings there.
Next we went to the Van Gogh Museum  We saw a lot of paintings. Some of the paintings he painted himself in. He has a lot of swirls in his paintings.
After that we walked to the Anne Frank House. We saw where she and her family hid during World War II when Hitler was taking over Europe.
Then we went to dinner and I got a pannekoeken.  A pannekoeken is a pancake in English.
At the end of the day we went back to the hotel and went to bed.
In the morning we went downstairs and ate breakfast.  I ate chocolate bread and cereal. I drank orange juice and chocolate milk.
After breakfast we went to a church called New Church.; They do not use the church for religious services anymore.
Next we went to a Royal Palace.  It used to be the town hall.
The last place we went to was to Zanse Schans and there were a lot of windmills. There was a wooden shoe place and we got to see how they make wooden shoes.; Then we ate pannkoekens for lunch.
