Agility
Italian Greyhounds love agility and the Shantiah kids are no exception.
Minky was the first to try after she started to get bored at obedience. A friend asked us to join a fun group who did agility like obstacles and we soon became instructors teaching the new dogs. University committments and a change of address meant that I had to stop for a while but on graduation we joined the local agility club and stsarted training in earnest.
Minky participated in a few trials but went blind before she achieved her title. She also particpated in many demos at fairs and agricultural shows and was agreat crowd pleaser as she manouvered around the courses. In 1997 Minky formed part of the Domonstration Team at the Sydney Royal Show.
Since Minky others have also trained in agility but have not had her success. Ralph is the next to try and seems to have what it takes to be a great agility dog. When he finishes his Aust Grand Ch Title he will begin training in earnest.
