| Buffy woke to find Spike gone when she sat up and looked around the room. She was scared when she looked on the floor but he wasn't there and she ran out of the room. She ran to the nurses' station when she looked at the nurse and she pounded on the desk. " Where is the patient in Room Eleven Sixteen?! ". " Isn't he in there? ". " I wouldn't be asking if he was! Tell me that the doctors came and took him for tests! ". " I don't see any. ", the nurse said looking at Spike's chart and Buffy felt like she was going to cry, " I'll call security. Go back and wait. ". Buffy went back into the room when she saw someone there and a white light flared in the room. The security people and the nurse came in to find the empty room as she pouted and they looked around. " Where did she go? ". ------------------------------------------ Spike held onto the wall as he walked along then stood straighter and sighed. He looked at his shaking hands when he breathed deeply the cool night air and wrapped his arms tightly to his body. " Why did I give away that bloody duster!? ", Spike said as he walked along and headed for the parking lot. He looked at the cars when he felt someone touch his shoulder and he turned around locking eyes with Angel. " Hello Spike. ". " Bugger. ". --------------------------------- She was in the white room. The bedroom was gone. The window was gone. Spike was gone. " No. ". Buffy walked around the white room when she turned and looked at the two figures behind her. They both were naked, with pale skin marked with blue swirling markings, and had black hair and yellow eyes. " Who are you!? What did you do with Spike!? ". " Have no fear, Buffy Anne Summers, we mean you no harm. ", the female said and Buffy growled. " Where is Spike!? ". " He is the one we need to talk to you about. You must know what he did in order to help him. ", the male said and she walked closer locking eyes with them. " What are you talking about?! ". " Watch! Felt his organs explode. Felt his eyes melting. He still could see and saw a vast crack in the ground opening up and looked at the fire below him. " No! No! Not that! I'm a bloody hero! No fair! ", Spike cried as he tried to keep his balance and saw something below smiling up at him. The First(for the first time Spike saw exactly what it looked like and he got scared.) laughed as The First reached for him and Spike waved his arms in wild circles trying to stay balanced. " Sod off! I'm a hero! ", Spike said as The First laughed and Spike rocked back and forth. " You are right, William The Bloody! ", a voice said as everything went white and he blinked looking at the two figures before him. " Who are you then? ". " We are representatives of a higher power. A power that has decided we still have need of you. ". " What am I?! Everyone's play toy!? I have had enough of playing games! ". " Do you wish to go there? ", the male said as Spike looked down and The First smiled up at him. " Noooooooooooooooooo! Not that! Please no! ". " Will you listen then? ", the female asked and he looked at her. " What do you want? ", Spike said with a sigh and they walked closer. " We need you to be our back up in case our champion loses his way and becomes lost to us. ", the male said and he looked at him. " Who is this champion? ". " He is the one called " Angel ". ", the female said and he laughed. " Sorry. It's just that Angel is a wanker and we hate each other. I don't think he'd like me to egg in on his business. ". " He is slowly being brought over to the other side. ", the male said and Spike smiled. " Really!? ". " Will you do it? ", the female asked and Spike looked down at The First smiling up at him. " So, what, I'll be a sleeper agent for the good guys like I was for that? ". " Yes. ", the male said and Spike sighed. " Is there any other options? ". " Well, if Angel doesn't fall to the other side, we can give you a second chance. A clean slate. Soul and all. Except you will have no memory of ever being a vampire. ", the female said and he looked at her. " A second chance to do what? ". " A normal life. ", the male asked and Spike walked closer. " With no strings? I get a normal human life and, when it's all over, I get to go, well, up!? ". " If you behave and repent anything you do wrong. ", the female said and he looked at her. " No bullocks!? This is straight up and up!? ". " Yes. ", the male said and Spike paced weighing the options. They waited as he looked at them and tilted his head to one side. " What if I want to remember? How do I get my memories back? ". " We will hide them in a special place. Don't worry. ", the male said and he blinked walking closer. " Only one place I know where they'll be safe. ", Spike said when he whispered in the male's ear then stood back. " Done. ", the male said and Spike smiled, " You must trust her very much. ". " With m'life, Mate, with m'life. But how do I trigger them? ". " You are wearing the trigger. ", the male said as Spike looked at the necklace and sighed. " Well? ", the female asked. " I pick the second one. I want a second chance. I just hope I don't muck it up like I did my old life. ". " Very well. ", the male said when he walked closer and Spike gasped as he placed his cold hand against Spike's chest. Spike felt himself breathing and his heart beating when he looked at them and blinked. ", Buffy whispered as they looked at her and she wiped the tears from her eyes. " You must hurry. He will need you. ", the female said and she looked at them. " Where is he? ". The female waved her hands when Buffy vanished then they did and the white room became quiet. |
