| Buffy had sent Dawn to go get Andrew and Xander and get something to eat while she watched Spike sleep then he slowly opened his eyes. He looked so sick as she touched his hair and he titled his head to one side. " Know what I remember? ". " What? ". " Well, most of the late seventies and the eighties. Man, I was a bored then. Did I tell you that Dru was the one that bleached my hair? I thought my hair would fall out. Anyway, I remember her getting hurt and sick. Going to Sunnydale. Meeting you. You really did hate me. I remember getting hurt and what happened after that. Being in a wheelchair sucked. I got better. Then I helped you with Angel... ". " By running away. ". Spike pouted when she kissed him and sat on the edge of the bed. " ...Yeah. I remember coming back that second time. Then I left. Then I came back with Harmony and got that ring. You dislocated my finger when you ripped it off of me. That hurt. ", Spike said when she took his hand and kissed his knuckle causing him to smile. " Sorry. ". " Not as sorry as Angel was. I was so bloody pissed I had this bugger torture him for the fun of it. Lost the ring and came back to have it out with you. Then those wankers got hold of me and place that bloody chip in my head. ". Buffy brushed the hair from his eyes as he sighed and she looked at him. " There was that stuff with Riley and Adam. Then that wanker Dracula came and you got all moony over him. ". " Did not! ", Buffy said as he gave her a look and she sighed. " Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-ah! Then there was that whole key thing. Ohhhhhhh, wait, that's Dawnie, right!? Little Bit was The Key! ". " Right, but, remember, she is real. ". " Right. Then there was the whole Glory thing and your mum getting sick. I remember that part. I was really hurt when she died. I liked her and she, kinda, liked me. Then I fell in love with you but you didn't want me. Not even when I showed you what Riley was up to. That and the whole Buffybot thing. THAT was a mistake! A biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig mistake! I remember Doc and.....The tower. ", Spike said but left out the part where he and Dawn went to Doc and got that spell to bring their mother back from the dead. " Yeah. The tower. ". " You died, Buffy, you were dead. How come you're here now? ". " Lets not talk of that now. Just go back to sleep. ". Spike sighed when he closed his eyes and went back to sleep and she held his hand in hers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The door opened while Buffy stood by the bed watching Spike sleep when Xander walked inside and had a bag with him. He walked closer when she looked at him and smiled. " I brought you lunch. How is he? ". " Not good. I don't think we can move him. I'm just afraid of what Angel will do to him if....... ", Buffy said when she started crying and Xander placed the bag down and held her. Buffy got under control as he looked at her then at Spike and she smiled at him. " Thanks. ". Xander nodded when he left and she sat on the chair and held Spike's hand. Xander hated himself when he walked to the pay phone and placed the coins in after picking the receiver up. He dialed when he looked down the hallway and sighed. " Oh. Hi. Yeah. Ummmmmmmm, I know where Spike is. Yeah. You got a pen and paper. ". Xander placed the receiver back as he touched it then looked down the hallway and sighed feeling a part of himself die inside. " I'm sorry, Buffy, but it's not fair. It should have been Anya that came back not him. ". -------------------------------------------------------------- Spike woke up when he noticed Buffy had laid on the bed next to him and he smiled. He moved the covers back when he slowly got up and sighed. The room spun around when he staggered to where her purse was and he opened it hoping she packed when he wanted. He smiled when he took the necklace in his hand and looked at her. He walked to the closet when he noticed his clothes and he got dressed. He sat on the bed when he took a deep breath and looked at the amulet. He placed the necklace on when he looked at Buffy and kissed her hair. " Sorry, Pet, but one last time. Hope this one doesn't kill me. ". Spike held the amulet to his chest when he felt like he was being hit in the head and sank to the floor. He laid on his side, shaking, when he let go and sat up. He wiped the foam from his mouth when he got up and touched her hair. " I am so sorry, Luv. ", Spike said when he walked to the door and looked around. No one was in the hallway when he walked to the door to the stairs and went inside. The door closed behind him as he sighed then walked down the stairs and outside. |
