Spike sat on the chair while Buffy talked with the family of the new slayer and explained things. They didn't seem to believe her when the daughter spoke up and said she'd like to go with them. They left the house as the girl sat in the back seat of the car and Spike sighed. Buffy touched his hand as he looked at her and smiled. The amulet flared as he felt like being hit in the head and he rolled his eyes back. Spike started shaking as she watched and the foam trickled out of his mouth. She tried not to cry when Buffy moved his hand away and took the necklace off of him. Spike twitched and shook as she placed the necklace on the night stand then laid him down. She took his wrist as she checked his pulse and he stopped shaking. " Spike? ", she asked when she placed her hand on his chest and he was still breathing. She laid next to him when she laid her head on his chest and listened to his heart. He picked up the receiver when he dialed and told Wes to take Gunn and Lorne to Montreal to look for Spike. He placed the receiver down when he growled and tossed the papers off his desk.
