to celebrate vicky's 24th (which conveniently fell on a long weekend), we all went down to kiso-fukushima for a fantastic party, followed by a bit of culture. vicky cooked a feast for us (complete with homemade spring rolls) and on sunday, some of us went to tsumago for a little sight seeing. |

the next day... |

for a bit of culture, (from l-r) kath, sarah, clare, vicky and i (i took the picture) drove down to tsumago, right at the border of nagano and gifu kens. we were joined by about a million other people, who all came to see the perfectly preserved edo-period village. people actually live here, but they don't allow modern eyesores like tv antennae etc. the weather was perfect, and it was a lovely day. |
