| the jungle and the beach | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| these were actually two completly separate adventures, which occured on different days, in very different places, but thematically, they seemed to go together. said jungle was just outside of KL, in a place called the people's park. the beach in question is the gorgeous island of tioman, of malaysia's east coast. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| here i am, the jungle mama, swinging on my jungle vine. or at least pretending to. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| we couldn't take too many pictures of the actual jungle around us, do to the ridiculous amount of litter. we did our part though, and picked up about 2 carrier bags worth from the place we ate our lunch. this is us, feeling like good environmentalists. =) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| the tiny figure in the middle is morgan. this waterfall was HUGE. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| morgan toughing it out next to the freezing water. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| the view from the 3 hour ferry ride. stunning. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| this is the pier in the very resorty town of salang. the water was incredible, crystal clear, and blue-green like a mermaid's tail. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| another view of salang. we actually stayed in the cabin in the picture for our last two nights there, because we felt we should treat ourselves, given the impending 24 hour trip back up to bangkok to catch our flight. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| ummm... morgan. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| now, after salang, we went to the west side of the island, and a little village called juara. juara was everything salang was not- quiet, undeveloped, small and wonderful. we stayed at a cute little a-frame bungalow right on the beach. we relaxed. we saw one other foreigner the entire time we were on the beach. it was incredible. i'd love to post some pictures, but while we were back in salang to catch the next morning's ferry to the mainland, we went to a quiet beach called monkey's head. while there, a monkey stole our camera. seriously. consequently, that's the end of the pictures. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
