the oregon coast: june 13-15, 2004
as i wrapped up a fairly stressful first quarter of grad school, mark lined up a fabulous vacation to the oregon coast.  we stayed at the amazing sylvia beach hotel in newport.   a hotel designed for literature geeks like me, each room is decorated in the style of a famous author, and there are no televisions, computers or telephones in the rooms.  with the roar of the sea complimenting tasty mulled wine served each evening in the library, i was in heaven.
mark relaxes on the bed of our F. Scott Fitzgerald room.  he even got over his phobia of fringed things so i could stay in the beautiful 20's style room.
mark reading a work of fiction! (i wouldn't let him bring computer books.)  he even enjoyed it!
the edgar allen poe room was cool, but definitely too creepy for me to want to sleep in.
me, enjoying the beautiful sea.
mossy rocks at the base of bluffs.
mark's wildest dairy dreams are realized.
a very happy couple.
