ajet ski weekend at happoone

january 21-23, 2000

it couldn't have been more perfect- after two days of snow storms, jets from all over japan arrived at happoone (hakuba, in the northern nagano alps) to take advantage of lots of fresh powder and beautiful sunshine.

clare and i as snowboarding barbies, because far more important than actually knowing how to snowboard, is LOOKING like you do.

sadly, clare and i spent most of our time on our bums, as demonstrated by this action shot.  we are both still feeling the love from the hills every time we sit down.

looking ever the professional ski bunny, sarah tries to convince clare it will all be alright during our disasterous attempt to come down the mountain on a skinny green path saturday.

on sunday, clare and i opted for supposedly less dangerous sledding, to the confused amusement of japanese around us.  apparently these sleds are only for children, or gaijin. =)
