The incredible main government building, designed by the one and only Michaelangelo.
Here are some photos that didn't fit anywhere else.  Enjoy!
The Pantheon deserves more than this puny picture, but you really can't capture the awesomeness of the structure on film, so this will have to do. One weird thing- even though 'pantheon' means "all gods" and the temple was originally designed to worship all gods, there is no trace left of any god but the Christian god inside.  In fact, there aren't really any signs of any of the ancient Roman gods left in the city's famous landmarks.  Interesting...
Mark and I enjoy a night on the town at the Campo di Fiori.  Actually, we started there, but there were so many Americans, we took a tram to another neighborhood to try and find an Italian restaurant.
On our last day, we headed out of the city to the ruins of an ancient (4th century BC) port town called Ostia.  The city was buried in river silt, so is remarkably well preserved.  The ruins were vast and amazing, and there were hardly any tourists.  Shocking!  Go there.
Tending bar at the Thermopolium.  It even had a partially preserved menu frescoed on the wall
