When we arrived in London, I told Mark we would do whatever he wanted, because I had been to the city several times before.  Mark, however, is Mark, so 'whatever he wanted' was basically going to Trafalgar Square to see the statue of Nelson, whom he did a report on in the 5th grade.  That was it.  So we don't have a lot of pictures from London.
A bridge in St. James' Park, near Buckingham Palace.  We were going to watch the changing of the guard, but there were too many people, and Mark said he didn't want to support the puppet monarchy anwyay.
Big Ben and the London Eye.
Mark and Big Ben
Mark and Sarah in Trafalgar Square.
Oh my GOD!  It's Lord Nelson!!!!
My lit geek tour continues at the Globe Theater.  We saw The Winter's Tale.
As luck would have it, we were in town for Wimbledon, so we queued for 2 hours on Thursday morning to get ground tickets for the day.  It was great.  The fulfillment of a childhood dream for me, although I was unable to be a ball girl or convince Croatian Tennis star Goran Ivanisevic to marry me.  So the fulfillment of one out of three of my childhood tennis-related dreams.  The weather was beautiful.  Too beautiful.  We got very sunburned.  In England.  I think it's a first.
Me, in front of the day's schedule.
Mark at the top of Henman Hill.  We watched Tim Henman lose that afternoon on the large screen behind him.  Poor Tim.
Venus Williams, destroying her 2nd round opponent on the way to a championship.  Go Venus!
The greater grounds of the All-England Lawn and Tennis Club.  Very nice.  Too bad we couldn't afford the $18 for strawberries and cream.
