after working, we (minus margaret, who had to go back to japan) headed to mindoro island, the closest, large island to manila. we took a ferry to sabang, then walked around the coast, until we reached big la laguna beach, which really was just like a post card. almost everyone stayed at the wonderful villa estellita, where patty, ella, jerry and everyone else treated us like family. after 6 days of bucket showers, we were loving it. the snorkeling was good, and right outside the hotel. we didn't do much other than sleep, eat, and swim, which felt about right... |

this guy aries (smelling fresh tourist meat) followed us from the ferry in sabang to our beach, telling us about this sunset cruise he wanted us to take. we finally agreed, and for about $7US, they took us snorkelling at these amazing coral gardens, then to another, more secluded beach to watch the sunset and have a barbeque. oh yeah, and rum and cokes along the way. needless to say, we enjoyed ourselves...=) |

we were having some beers one night, when david says 'i want to sit down, but i want to be in the water.' thanks to the good (and easy going) people at our hotel, problem solved. |
