i have to say, i was pretty impressed with our nation's capitol building. there is just something about seeing such a famous landmark in person. we took the tour, then wandered over to our congressman's office to get gallery passes good for the entire next session of congress. of course, they weren't in session while we were there, so the hole place was eeriely empty. next time we'll be sure to figure out how to be one of the 'special visitors' we saw roaming around with private tour guides.
a sweet view down the mall from the front steps of the capitol.
mark, looking 'tough.'
mark takes pride in his north dakota heritage. this statue of sacajawea is one of only about 5 women statues in the building.
king kamehameha represent! everyone on our tour thought hawaii's statue was the coolest!
