| John Nunley Sr. came to Tishomingo Co. Ms. in the late 1830s. In the 1840 census he has one son who is Greenberry Nunley. His wife is also with him. Mahala Boone Nunley born 1802 in Kentucky. John is on records in 1837 such as the state census of Mississippi and helping building the roads for the town. Recent imformation I have recieved appears to say that John is the uncle of William M. Nunley. More will be added to this imformation soon so check back for further updates. |
| Greenberry Nunley was born in 1829 and was one of the children of John Nunley and Mahala Boone Nunley. He was married to Mahala Moody, daughter of Abner Moody. Greenberry was known in the community for his fiddle playing as you can see in the picture. I will be adding more imformation soon. |
