We will be beginning a new writing project. Visit the first stop of the virtual field trip, at
brainpop.com to watch a short video and learn about the different types of
writing. We will move right along to
our second stop on the virtual
field trip. Here we will discuss
and visit a website that explains what a 5 paragraph essay looks like and
needs. Homework: Choose an author

We will discuss why a bibliography is necessary. We will go to the third stop on our virtual field trip to
see a bibliography completed. We will
then complete an Internet

We will view a video on what is
required in an Author Study. We will
then visit stop four on our virtual field trip to
see a web page on Lois Lowry. We will
also stop at the fifth virtual
field trip and view a website on S.E. Hinton. We will then begin getting information on
the authors the students have chosen.
We will begin working on the bibliography. Homework: Complete finding
information on the author chosen. Gaining information on the authors Internet websites on authors. |

For our final stop on the virtual field trip, we
will work with a partner to fill in an electronic graphic organizer of a 5
paragraph essay. Using that, we will
begin writing the first draft of the author studies. Homework: Finish writing
