| Hi! I'm here to answer all your questions about those oddball books you can't find. Looking for a title, but not sure if it exists? Wanting to know who the real author is on a book you're pretty sure was written under a nom de plume? Where the heck is that Stephen King story your favorite movie is based on? Ask away! | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Today's question: | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Mis-Education of Little Tree | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Sure. First off, let's get the name straight. It's not actually by the sage and wise Asa Earl Carter. You're going to hate me for this, but the book was actually written by a (to be fair, possibly former) Ku Klux Klansman named Forrest Carter. He has written other works, most notably George Wallace's speech given as a call for segregation; "Segregation now! Segregation tomorrow! Segregation forever!" Not exactly the model man for love and understanding. He wasn't even Cherokee. Now, so you don't think I'm puffing smoke, don't take my word for it. Check out this thorough artilce from Salon. (I will warn you it does use what some consider objectionable language.) |

| The Miseducation of Little Tree is one of my favorite books. It really tought me more about the Indians and about love. Can you tell me about the author? | |||||||||||||||||||||||
