| Hi! I'm here to answer all your questions about those oddball books you can't find. Looking for a title, but not sure if it exists? Wanting to know who the real author is on a book you're pretty sure was written under a nom de plume? Where the heck is that Stephen King story your favorite movie is based on? Ask away! | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Today's question: | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Anne Rice does Raunch | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| Boy howdy, did she! Anne Rice has a couple of books in the (very) erotica section. There's two names Ms Rice used to indulge herself in- Exit to Eden, and Belinda were written under the name Anne Rampling, and the Beauty Trilogy under the name A. N. Roquelaure. All deal with compassionate sado-masochism, or at least that's the best term I can think of. I've never read Belinda, it seems to be a Lolita type of thing. I know Exit to Eden was made into a movie with Dana Delany, Paul Mercurio, Rosie O'Donnell, Dan Aykroyd, Stuart Wilson, and Iman. But that whole super-criminal thing appears nowhere in the book- that was grafted on by Garry Marshall. (Many say to the detriment of the story. I personally thought it was funny, but then, anything that shows Rosie O'Donnell with a whip is funny.) So don't go looking for that back story there. I actually own the Sleeping Beauty Trilogy, kind of, my friends keep borrowing them and I don't think I've had them all on my shelf at once in three years. (J- I want them back, please!) However, you can hear more about them from Anne Rice herself at her website Q&A section! So if you're into that sort of stuff- go ahead and read them. Let's just say you'll never look at cinnamon rolls the same way again. |

| Someone told me that Anne Rice wrote some (ahem) adult books. Is this true? Does she use another name? | |||||||||||||||||||||||
