I knew that I would be with you
For Jesus told me this.
He said I wouldn't be there long
Then on my cheek he kissed.
I didn't really understand
Why soon I'd have to leave,
Because I knew when I had to go
The ones who loved me would grieve.
I remember Mommy holding me
Her touch was soft, and slow.
Whenever she would pick me up
Oh how my spirit would glow.
I knew I was something special
Because God sent me to you.
He knew that you would love me
No matter what we all went through.
The moment I looked in your eyes
The love I felt was strong.
I wanted to stay here with you
But knew I had to move along.
You see now I'm here with Jesus
He holds me everynight.
And even though I miss you
