THE GIFT OF PROPHECY

There are four basic spiritual gifts or personality types. We actually have
the potential of all four gifts, but we each have one primary gift which
determines our basic avenue of communication while we are here on earth.
(In chapter 12 of 1 Corinthians it speaks about the gifts of the spirit.)
First let's cover the gift known as Prophecy or the Prophetic Type. An individual
with this sensitivity, who has a balanced orientation to life, often becomes
an outstanding executive. Because he has a strong concern for the future,
he plans ahead and can carry projected programs through to successful completion.
He is responsive to the ideas and feeling of others and usually commands
respect. Through a sense of order, personal control, and personal direction,
this individual maintains a necessary sense of security. He has keen insight
into people and situations. He sizes things up quickly through inner balance
and perception and grasps an overall picture that includes all the important
details. He is an excellent manager and has ability to weigh a situation.
In his personal expression he is direct, accurate, and dependable. The Prophetic
Type has a solid sense when someone or something is out of balance, for he
has a natural wisdom to know things without being told. This type helps others
to develop their potential. He realizes that each person must discover his
life pattern, and as a way-shower he is there to assist. He does not try
to shelter others for he realizes the importance of personal freedom. He
us a balanced person who can give help without involving his own ego. The
Prophetic has an inner awareness about the future and senses what others
can become. Through love and patience he helps them to develop their innate
qualities. His feelings are well-developed, and he has a need to express
affection in his own way to his loved ones. When the Prophetic Type is out
of balance, however, and does not understand himself, he will have difficulty.
He may be moody, and he lets other people unduly influence his behavior.
He can be very critical and usually feels the need to control the people
around him. People of this type tend to spread themselves too thin and take
on more work than they can effectively handle. An out-of balance Prophetic
is critical of everything and feels he must pass judgment on all he encounters.
This type distrusts new people and new situations. He constantly judges himself,
having very little faith in his own ability. He is quick to blame others
for their faults and is slow to forgive them for their mistakes. He worries
a lot about the future and has a compulsion to produce, often trying to do
too many things at once. Consequently, he is usually scattered and confused
in his thinking. He does many things for people that they are capable of
doing for themselves. He then reminds them of the great sacrifice he made,
forcing them to feel obligated. In this way he can control them. He does
not wish the people around him to be mature and independent, but prefers
that they lean on him to he can be the center of importance. Here is the
meddling "mother Goose," minding everyone else's business. His loved ones
are very important to him. He tends to be possessive and wants to know everything
going on with those close to him. This type, when out of balance, extracts
information from people by questioning them a great deal. He then uses this
information against the person, for he is a gossiper who enjoys petty
conversation. He wants to be known as the best source to find out the "inside"
on everyone. Once the Prophetic learns to be aware of his real self and moves
into balance, he can overcome these areas. It is important for him to learn
how to reject the negative and accept only constructive thoughts. When in
balance he becomes extremely sensitive and productive. The Prophetic has
hunches or premonitions about things that are going to happen. Prophetics
know things. They can't say how they know, they just do. They receive thoughts
as a knowing, and have little interest in analyzing things intellectually.
Because they know, they sometimes tend to become impatient and to nag at
others who don't have this knowing. This type often becomes sleepy or drowsy
during the day, especially when the spirit comes near them. When asleep,
they dream a great deal and often about things that are going to happen in
the future. Their dreams are very vivid to them. Sometimes they mumble in
their sleep and in their early years they probably sleepwalked. The gift
of Prophecy is able to go into a full trance and serve as a channel for other
souls to come through. Prophetics tend to think out loud and often talk to
themselves. Actually they are working things out audibly with their guidance,
and this is one of the ways they organize themselves. It also gives them
a feeling of inner security and of knowing they are never alone.

Thanks for dropping in!
