Problem Statement: Exploiting the Tape devices used in Backup,
for data recording ....say kind of video casette recorder.

There are several light-weight backup tape drive's with
varying capacities ....DLT & DAT ...viz DLT/LTO based tapes supporting
upto capacities in excess of x00 GB (Giga Bytes) and Dat based tapes
supporting anywhere between 40 to x0 GB(Giga Bytes)

with several formats and techniques(data compression) around for
storing data on tape's ...one may refer to protocols or standards
that are in vogue ....efficiency ...also refer to the document mentioned
                    below.

with data I/O i.e. read write capacities running upto XX(say 40) GB
                    per sec

These drive's make a good sense to be shipped or bundled or embedded
or retailed as independent portable drives pluggable with Cam coders,
Video survialance devices and other similar purposes.

When making these devices as a pluggable portable devices interface's
using fibre-optic cable for data transfer's between devices

or a RF supported devices(Tape drives data recorders ...that recored
data recieved via RF) ....with range dependent on the capabilities
of a transmitter (WLL, WIFI,GSM,ATM ...any of these protocols can be
                    exploited)

Note: The above problem statement having been encountered in various scenarios
and detailed in various 'Proof of concepts' as mentioned in
      'http://uk.geocities.com/ravivenkatus/projects.pdf' ....apply appropriate
'use-case' modeling, rationalize and arrive at a workable and feasible
solution both commercially and techinically viable.
