Opportunities : Further to as articulated, published, illustrated the document below.

   a) ....most computing systems let the administrator ...decide the
frequency at which a end-user is forced to re-set the password

i.e. password expiry or password aging

ideally given that password is private to end-user ...it is for
his own good that he is being adviced to change the password,

Hence, the period after which a user needs to be reminded or forced
to change the password as a configurable option to the end-user
                 would be more palatable feature

....also the above which delegation of password management i.e.
password expiry frequency setting as a delegatable option at the
administrative interface for a system manager or the administrator

Thus Password management as a feature at the Operating system level,
as part of software systems (databases, ERP's, other applications
including web based applications) ....make's a viable feature to
be included as part of these systems

  b) Deriving from some of my work at Adesta.com ...the concept used
as part of the PGP ....window digest mode of authentication

The authenitication database to contain the master key ...the
end user ...authenticates with his key ...which is validated

....contrary to the current standard authentication modes in place

assuming that the master key ...held in the database is rather kind
of a algorithm .....any key that validates the algorithm should be
                 a valid and acceptable password.

Ex: Casting of a number (say 9), Modulus of number ...etc

[ the above is For anlogical sake much like a candidate key ...satisfying
the criteria or constraint on a relational table

or rather more aptly tuples in relational table ...on a column with
unique key satisfying the criteria ]

....the above if not case for a password itself ...would make a good
...norm to be in place for retrival Hint for a password.

Note: The above problem statement having been encountered in various scenarios
and detailed in various 'Proof of concepts' as mentioned in

       http://uk.geocities.com/ravivenkatus/projects.pdf
       http://ravishankarkv.tripod.com/projects.pdf
        ....apply appropriate
'use-case' modeling, rationalize and arrive at a workable and feasible
solution both commercially and techinically viable.
