New Blood
|
The New Blood dragons, also called NB dragons, are the newcomers to Enzan Shi.
They founded the Deragonray and are, by definition, complete mixed breeds.
They have no real discerning features, though some have inherited some major physical traits that their parents had.
The most common appearance is a large reptillian creature with a slightly rigid tail, feature-less head and multi-tined wings that appear fanned when stretched.
They are quadrapedal, with legs of equal length, and claws on all legs that can deal death as quick as their teeth.
They can have any variety of abilities, due to their strange melding of genetics, and are generally unscaled.
They are generally 'good' and will bond any variety of creatures... if they bond at all.
In the recent years, New Blood clutches have shrunk to a maximum of ten eggs, of which only a maximum of seven will bond.
New Blood dragons bond at birth and grow at a rapid rate to meet the mental age of their bond.
Unbonded dragons take ten to fifteen years to reach full adulthood (compared to a previous three), while bonded ones take the normal three to five (the older the bond, the longer the time).
The dragons themselves have also shrunk, opting for magical strength rather than physical size.
They are a maximum of thirty feet long, though they average about ten.

Ancient Blood General
|
The Ancient Blood dragons (AB dragons) are one of the oldest species in the world.
They were created back when the Urvar were, making them as old as time itself.
They are divided various elements, which cannot interbreed without some magical intervention on the part of the Urvar.
Many of the Ancient Blood come in patterns, whether subtle or bold, and some like to enhance their colouration with natural paint (which is adhered with magic, which all have).
They rarely bond and, when they do, they are usually less than twenty years old, but older than ten.
No Ancient Blood dragons will bond straight out the egg - their parents will not allow it.
In fact, most Ancient Blood parents refuse to let their children leave their sight until they are at least ten years of age.
Only at twenty are they considered mature adults.
Most of these dragons grow to be a maximum of twenty feet in length.

|
Ancient Blood Fire
|
Ancient Blood Fires look the most like the New Blood dragons, with one major difference: they have tiny diamond-hard scales.
They are quadrapedal, lizard-like with semi-rigid tails and have fanned wings.
However, they also have backward pointing horns and a flame-shaped mark of different scale colours around their eyes.
They have four toes on their forelegs and six on their hindlegs, each with powerful claws.
They are physically and magically powerful and can always use fire magic.
Most Fires are any shade from red to golden-orange, be they dark or light or vibrant.
They usually have two colours of scales, one which is around the eye and along their stomachs, where the scales are weaker.
The difference between these two colours does not have to be much.
They are also quite prone to painting themselves, but always stay within their fiery colour spectrum.

|
Ancient Blood Water
|
Ancient Blood Waters are quadrapedal with fanned wings and many spars.
They are covered in medium-sized interlocking scales that are like a giant puzzle.
Their tails are long and flexible, with a diamond-shaped fin encompassing the final third.
They have two backward facing horns which split into three points in the last third, as well as a curved horn on their nose which are a third of the length of their longer horns.
They have fourt oes on their forelegs and six on their hindlegs, all with claws.
They are not very powerful physically, though all can breathe underwater due to gills above their wing-arms on their shoulders.
They can use water magic from a very young age and are actually the dragons who can use magic at the youngest age.
Most Waters range from teal to indigo, dark or light or vibrant.
They often come in stripes to imitate the way light plays on water.
They are the one type that will literally cover themselves in paint, especially during festivals.
|
|
Ancient Blood Wind
|
Ancient Blood Winds are quadrapedal with very long sinuous bodies.
They are covered in small scales that can deflect most magical attacks, yet are weak to physical ones.
Their tails make up over half their length and are very flexible, often whip-like.
Their wings have three spars and leathery sails.
They also have four toes on their forelegs and six on their hindlegs, each with claws.
Their most prominent feature is a large fin of bone going from their nose in a wide arc to end past their shortened horns (which are only a third or so of the length of a Fire or Water of the same size).
They are pathetically weak physically, barely able to stand any physical combat.
However, their avian feats and powerful control of the winds makes them almost unattainable by others.
Winds are all paler than the grey of fog, but of any hue.
They do not paint themselves under any circumstances, as they prefer their subtle patterns.
|
|
Ancient Blood Lightning
|
Ancient Blood Lightnings are quadrapedal with short stocky bodies.
They are covered in small iridescent scales that reflect the light and lightning attacks.
Their tails are strong and slightly flexible, to deal a killing blow with the six paired-off spines at the tip of them.
They have two prongs rising from their foreheads at a slight forward-upward curve (this is used to catch and/or throw lightning).
They also have two backward facing horns to fight in close quarters.
Their wings are huge and fanned, also impermeable to lightning attacks.
They have four toes on each leg, though the forelegs also have a dew-claw.
Lightnings are extemely strong magically and a worthy adversary in physical combat.
They can also easily combine both abilities, shocking those they touch.
Lightnings come in any shade between yellow and gold.
They may have the smallest range in hue, but their tendancy to paint themselves in colours outside their traditional boundaries obliterates their plainness.
They usually imitate the vibrant stripes of the Waters with their paint, always using their normal colour as the base.

|
Ancient Blood Earth
|
Ancient Blood Earths are one of the more physical Ancient Dragons.
They are quadrapedal with long rigid tails that make up half their length.
They have long necks and no claws, as well as single-sparred wings.
They have a crest that resembles feathers running from nose to shoulders in their secondary colour.
They are born without wings, but grow them over time.
Earths are not the most physically powerful, but they can cause physical damage with their magic.
They can sprout vines to toss around opponents, as well as root themselves to heal.
They are carnivorous plants that can move, to be precise.
Earths range from brown to green to yellow-green in any shade.
They often have a sub-shade of purple or red, which are their crest colour.
They sometimes cover themselves in paint to camouflage themselves or to state their availability (green means single and looking, blue means single yet not looking, purple means partnered permanently, black means lost a partner and is not searching).

|
Ancient Blood Dark
|
Ancient Blood Darks are a good example of the Ancient Dragons' affinity for their elements.
They are not really flesh and bone, more made of shadow-flesh and shadow-bone.
They can stretch and manipulate their mass and always have the same volumic mass.
They do not always appear the same size, however, due to their ability to condense and stretch.
They do, however, have a base shape which they take subconsciously and is their natural shape.
They are quadrapedal with large fanned wings and tails over twice their comulative length.
They often look as if they are made of whisps of shadow, though they can condense to a fully reptilian version.
They prefer to keep their bodies looking slightly 'fuzzy', though it is common for their wings to be fully condensed.
They have four toes on each foot and even form deadly teeth, horns and claws out of razor-sharp shadow.
Their eyes are red.
The Darks are perhaps the most deadly of all Ancient Dragons, being extremely powerful both physically and magically.
Their magic leads by a small margin, which is rarely noticeable in adult dragons.
Their young, however, often play as whisps of shadow and are never not using their magic.
All Darks are black or dark gray.
Their colour depends on their density, and sometimes varies into spots or stripes only seen in the right light.
|
|
Ancient Blood Light
|
Ancient Blood Lights are also an element-oriented type.
They are made of light, which is condensed into the physical form they prefer.
They can also stretch and condense like the Darks.
Their preferred appearance is of a dragon, obviously.
They are quadrapedal with half their length taken up by tails which end in a spade.
Their wings are feathered and they have curved horns, which are first pointing backwards then forwards again.
They have four toes on each foot, including a dew claw on their forelegs.
The Lights are the exact equals of the Darks, matching them in both physical and magical strengths.
Their young like to play as balls of light, but their affinity for taking on the appearance of light decreases with age.
All Lights are luminescent and as close to white as it is possible to be without being white.
They have a slight hue variant, which is visible in the primary feathers of their wings and their eyes.
|
|
Ancient Blood Celestial
|
Ancient Blood Celestials are the most physically deviating of the element-oriented type.
They are made of the matter of outer space, appearing to be skies full of stars, nebulas and planets.
They cannot stretch and condense, but they do not need to.
Space has a shape, as do they.
They are wyverns, with large wings as arms and weak hindlegs (which they only gain at three years of age).
They have their nose-holes right in front of their eyes, beaked mouths and a single pointed horn smoothly pointing out the back of their head.
Their tails are long and flexible, not to mention sharp as the sharpest of knives.
The Celestials are physically weak, though they can deal some damage if they need to.
They greatly prefer to use their magic, which also deals with illusions to confuse their opponent until they call the powers of the zodiac to them.
They do not paint themselves, as their natural appearance constantly changes and they often enjoy watching it change.
|
|
Ancient Blood Undead
|
Ancient Blood Undeads are the strangest of the physical Ancient Dragons.
They are wyvern-like with two large wings, each with two spines and three wrist-claws.
They have two backward pointing horns, six spines in two rows on their chests and a spaded tail.
What is most interesting about the Undeads is that they are born dead and have to be ripped from their eggs and magically awakened by their parents.
From then on, they begin to decay.
By the time they reach one hundred years of age, they are half bones held together by magical tendons and muscles which replace those that fall off.
At five hundred, they are simple skeletons.
They also have red eyes, without eyeballs.
Undeads are physically indestructable and can only be killed using magic.
However, they also have powerful magic.
It is said the strongest Undead ever to live could even convert the living to their type with their magic, though that was back at the beginning of creation.
Such Undead would be sought out and exterminated by their opposites, the Divine.
Undead are completely colourless in shades of grey.
They do not have any colour anywhere on them and, if they paint themselves, it is in red.
|
|
Ancient Blood Hider
|
Ancient Blood Hiders are barely real.
They are at most translucent, often near-transparent.
They are quadrapedal with four toes on each foot.
Their wings are fanned and wide, their tails long and flexible.
They have no physical anomalies.
Hiders are physically indestructable, unable to be touched by the real world, especially when they make themselves transparent.
Their magic deals with hiding and cloaking, as well as illusions.
All Hiders can wield magic, as they are magic.
Hiders come in a large array of colours, usually green, blue or purple.
They only come in colours lighter than fog or darker than smoke.
They do not paint themselves, as that would draw attention.
|
|
Ancient Blood Crystal
|
Ancient Blood Crystals are living crystals.
They glitter in the light and their scales are sharp, jagged and seem to stick out in every direction.
Most would say they offer no protection, but their angles catch the light and throw it back in the attacker's face, blinding them.
They are quadrapedal and are born without wings, which they grow over time and are fanned.
They have four toes on each foot and their lower jaws jut slightly past their upper jaws.
Their spines have large thick ridges, which are more noticeable than the finer angles of their scales.
Crystals are physically powerful, using their magic to aid them in physical combat.
They cannot fight with just one or the other, and it does not exhaust them to use both.
Crystals come in the gem variants of every hue, sparkling and shining.
They reflect any light there is, so they always appear paler than they really are.
They do not paint themselves, as it hides their luminescence.
|
|
Ancient Blood Changer
|
Ancient Blood Changers are natural shape-shifters.
They never stay in the same shape for very long, though they do have a natural shape which they sometimes revert to.
This form is quadrapedal with four toes on each leg.
They have two long backward-pointing horns, large spined ridges from between their horns to their shoulders.
Their wings are large and fanned and their tails have three prongs.
Their tails are also often half their length.
Changers are magically powerful and, due to this, they can be as physically powerful as they wish.
Their magic deals with change and transformation, which they can invoke on others as well.
Changers come in a shifting chaotic mass of colours.
No two are the same, but no two are solid colours.
They all have every colour of the rainbow, in different shifting swirls and patterns.
Often, they are nauseating to look at.
They do not paint themselves, they do not see the point of it.
|
|
Ancient Blood Time
|
Ancient Blood Times are the pure embodiment of time itself: constant and never-ending.
They are always the same shape and never bend to anybody else's will or wishes.
They are quadrapedal with three toes on their forelegs, four toes on their forelegs.
Their wings have one major spar, but they do not need to fly, they can twist time to their will.
Their tails are exactly half their length, never more, never less.
They have ridges beginning at the back of their heads and ending at their shoulders.
They have no claws, but they have sharp teeth which speed up or slow down the heart of their victim to their will due to a magic toxin they can inject through them.
Times are magically powerful and, therefore, cna be as physically powerful as they want to.
They can bend time, either to change their reactions or others' reactions.
Times are shimmering metallic colours, which ripples as they move yet never fully deviates from their base colour.
They only paint themselves when going to war, when they cover themselves in red paint.
|
|
Ancient Blood Poison
|
Ancient Blood Poisons have the strangest element of all.
They are quadrapedal with four toes on each foot.
They also have one dewclaw per foreleg, two per hindleg.
They have large fanned wings, two spines pointing forward from each shoulder and four horns on their heads from nose to forehead.
They have a set of saber teeth, which are also venemous, and barbed tails.
All in all, they are made to inflict physical harm.
Poisons are physically powerful to an insane level.
They can inject poison with almost any bodypart and can control any toxin at a distance.
Poisons are the most vibrant of all Ancient Dragons, coming in vibrant greens, blues, purples, yellows, oranges and reds.
They also always have black splotches, which sometimes take up the majority of their bodies.
However, they often add more of their natural colour to their black parts with paint.
|
|
Ancient Blood Divine
|
Ancient Blood Divines are so luminescent, it is difficult to see them properly.
Shadows do not touch them, no matter how dark it is.
They are quadrapedal, yet do not have claws, and slightly feathered wings and ears.
Their tails are half their length and their upper lips protrude very slightly.
Divines are insanely magically powerful, which helps their physical strength.
They are equal to the Undeads, whom they despise and constantly fight.
They keep each other from getting too powerful.
Divines come in blindingly brilliant white, no variations.
Paint does not make a difference on them.
|
|
Ancient Blood Spirit
|
Ancient Blood Spirits are whatever they wish to be.
They usually take on an unwinged quadrapedal form.
They have no claws in this form and their tails are over half their length.
They also have a single horn rising from their heads, and they have no mouths or noses.
Spirits' power lies only in their magic.
With their magic comes great physical power, if they wish it to be that way.
Their true power lies in their minds.
Spirits are usually mid-tone grey with a slight blue tone.
They very rarely deviate from this, as this is their natural colour.
However, they can and will paint themselves to make a show for other types, when their subtle colour changes will not do.
|
|
Ancient Blood Indescribable
|
Ancient Blood Indescribables are just that: indescribable.
They have no wings, but can fly; they have only one toe on each leg but can hold things; they have no mouths but can eat.
They are born without limbs, just a simple serpentine creature with a diamond-shaped fin on the tip of their tail.
They soon become quadrapedal with metal and gem plates growing on their heads, chests and replacing their fins.
As adults, they have two plates on each side as well.
They all have a large gem right between their forelegs on their chests, in a standing position.
Indescribables are both magically and physically powerful.
Both go hand-in-hand for them, as without either they would die, especially magic.
Spirits are usually pale grey with metallic plates and gleaming gems.
Their core gem, the largest of their breast plate, changes with their mood, a code which is different for each Indescribable.
