Vince's Big Broiled Grapefruits
3 large grapefruits, at room temperature
3 teaspoons butter or margarine
3 tablespoons brown sugar
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
6 maraschino cherries


1.   Halve the grapefruits, then cut a thin slice from the bottom of each so that they balance.

2.   Cut around each grapefruit half to loosen the fruit from the shell.   Remove the cores.

3.  Dot each half with 1/2 teaspoon butter or margarin.   Combine the brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle them over the grapefruits.

4.   Place the grapefruits on the broiler rack of in a shallow backing pan, and broil 4 inches from the heat for about 8 minutes, or until they are heated thoroughly and the tops are bubbly.

5.  Garnish with maraschino cherries.

Makes 6 servings
