Scope and Sequence Paper

The sequence of skills taught was put in this particular order to not only ensure the comprehension of information, but also to ensure success for each of my students. The students will be able to take prior knowledge learned and apply them to new material. Animal Science is a very broad course and there are important aspects a student must be able to understand to get the proper learning foundation.

The order in which I have placed each learning activity will help the student get a better grasp of the material because I grouped similar lessons together. Each activity is transitioned, so that the students will be able to build from prior knowledge learned. They will be able to apply skills learned to new material. Since the material in this particular animal science class can be so challenging, I choose to do a review, assessment and test at the end of each six weeks, so that I could evaluate the knowledge gained by each student. Based on the results of my assessments, I will be able to further teach any students that does not show competency. By re-teaching my students prior to the test, I will ensure the success for all of my students on the test. This way the students have the opportunity to shine as well as learn and to be able to apply skills gained.

As a professional Ag. Science Teacher I will use a scope and sequence to ensure that I teach all the required TEKS while maintaining successful animal science students. I hope that the learning environment that I provide is a safe and secure one, so my students will have the opportunity to go above and beyond their learning expectations.
