The Canine Blood Collection power point was created using a black, white and red format which contained no pictures. These particular objectives consist of an abundant amount of steps so; I wanted a format where my students would focus on the content and not the pictures. I have created my power point as an instructional aid that will benefit the students learning as well as my instruction. I believe my students will find that the power point is easy to obtain information from so that they can show mastery of the objectives learned. The slides are attractive do not contain too much information. My students will not be over whelmed and can process the information on each slide before going to the next slide. I have also included demonstration videos so that my auditory and visual learners can comprehend the content as well.
The advantage to using power point with this lesson is that it is a cognitive reinforcement for the students and a good outline for the teacher. As a teacher, I can use the power point to ensure that I include all important steps and information needed for my students to demonstrate mastery of the objectives. There are no disadvantages to using power point with this lesson. Since there are so many steps in this lesson, the power point is the only way to ensure that all steps are conveyed to the student. This lesson has given me the foundation and practice to create a meaningful power point presentation. I will now be able to use power point presentation when instructing my future students.
