What is the Shoalin? The Shaolin are a group of men who live in isolation deep in China. They are a peaceful kind of folk who rarely come in contact with foreign people. They dedicate their lives to spiritually,mentally, and phisicaly developing themselves. |

The Shaolin have acheived high levels of spirituality through meditation and practice. They use a force called chi(chinese) or ki(japanese). This force is known as the universal life force. Every living thing contains this force. It's what keeps us alive. The Shaolin are able to channel this energy throught their body for healing, or for doing serious damage. How did thay stumble across this mysterious element?Lets start with some history and background info. |

The Shaolin temple was started by Hsiao Wen. He built it as a sanctum for meditation deep in the forest. The monks would spend their lives in the temple. But soon, reoccuring bandit attackes left the temple in ruins and the monks hiding like cowards. So, in order to maintain the temple, kung fu masters were sent to teach the monks martial arts. The monks quickly learned, mixing in some of their own spiritual knowledge. The monks then acheived a spiritual level of defense using chi. They were now able to perform stunts almost impossible for the human physique. |

The monks are able to perform amazing stunts. They can smash boulders and bricks ?on their bare bald heads, stick blades into their abdomins without experiencing pain and in some cases, forcing their body against the blade causing it to bend. Some of them can also take emmense amounts of torture such as hanging. Some of the monks hang themselves for 3 hours every day! They are also able to channel energy through their body to make their bones strong enough to smash steel. They can also channel this amazing energy through their hands causing a blast to occur sending and enemy flying. |
