COME ON KRYS!! Nat yelled from the bottom of the stairs WERE GONNA BE LATE!!
IM COMING, Krys replied. I sat on the couch, sitting my backpack and jacket beside me.
Kennie, What are you doing?? Nat asked me You dont have time to sit,
Yes, I do, I answered We go through this every morning, Every time you yell to her she says shes coming, yet she doesnt come down the stairs until 5 minutes after youve called her,
Then tomorrow we call her 5 minutes early, Nat said smugly
Then you have to change the clocks, I said Krys, does everything on a schedule, most mornings she refuses to get out of bed until 6:32 exactly,
Are you serious? Jason asked
Yep, she says its her groove, I replied You gotta be smart to be able to throw off her groove, I made quotation marks with my hands when I said groove. Jason shrugged. I looked at my watch.
She should be coming out of our room, and shell come down the stairs......NOW!! As I said now, Krys appeared at the top of the stairs. She was wearing a pleather jacket and her backpack was slung over her right shoulder. Nat and Jason both turned their heads to look at me. I just smilied.
Shows how well you know your sister, I replied to their stares
NOT fair!! You share a room with her!! Nat answered
Yeah your right, I said You do know Jase that well right?? Nat shook her head
I prove my point, I said just as smugly as Nat had been when she came up with her plan to call Krys 5 minutes earlier. I got up, put my thick winter jacket on and grabbed my back pack before going out the front door. I got to the car and tried to open my door but it wouldnt budge.
Jason, I whined My door is frozen closed,
He came over to my door and tried to open it with no avail.
Youll have to get it on Krys side, he concluded after trying to get the door open a couple more times. I walked around to the other side of the small car. Krys opened the door and let slide in. It was when we were halfway to school that I realized my door wasnt frozen after all. It was locked. I was chuckling to my self but Krys heard
What are you giggling about?? She asked
Nothing, I answered I could tell I was starting to blush about the stupid mistake I had made
The door was locked wasnt it?? She questioned, I nodded sheepishly and Krys too had started to laugh.
aww...dont laugh at me now, I said jokingly
What are you two laughing about?? Nat asked
Kennies...door...was...locked, Krys said, she was barely able to talk because she was laughing so hard.
You said it was frozen!! Jason said
I thought it was, I said Apparently I was mistaken, I looked a Krys who was still laughing, but not as hard. I was used to this, my siblings always got a good laugh at some of the things I did. Sometimes I do that stuff so much that they call me their little ditz.
When we got to school I easily pushed my door open and got out. I walked up to the front doors and walked in. There was already groups of people standing around different lockers. I went to my locker, opened it up and looked at my watch. It was 8:35. 25 more minutes until classes started. I threw my backpack in my locker and went to find one of my friends.
I walked down the hall and spotted the back of a tall blonde, with spiked hair, standing in front of a locker. He appeared to be getting something from the top shelf. I walked up behind him and put my arms around his waist. He turned around and looked straight over my head.
Whos there?? He asked, I laughed and tickled his sides.
Down here, I said. He was still laughing
Youre too short, he said, as he was looking down, I looked up
What are you doing here so early? I asked, Josh, my boyfriend, was never at school this early. He was usually here 5 minutes before the bell rang.
My mom drove me when she went to work, he said, I unwrapped my arms from his waist
Come outside with me, I said
In a minute, Josh replied, turning to close his still open locker.
Why do you wanna go outside? He questioned Its cold out there,
I wanna go out when the snow is falling, I said
You went out this morning didnt you?
Yeah but I only walked to the car, and into the school,
It was snowing then wasnt it? He asked
Yeah, but I just wanna stand in it, I grabbed his hand and pulled him towards the doors. It was dark enough outside for the streetlights to be on. When we got outside I found a clear spot and stood there with my head turned up towards the sky. I stuck my tongue out to catch some of the big flakes on my tongue. The flakes were stuck together in bunches making it appear that huge snowflakes were falling. We were supposed to get a snow storm. It was perfect, there was only 7 more days until Christmas. Thats what I loved about Canada, theres always snow for Christmas.
