The cameras followed them everywhere. Just like theyre going to follow us every where. Theyre going to capture every second on tape. Every up and every down, I dont know if I can handle it. I want this so bad, but I just dont know if I can handle it. My whole life on camera, from the time I wake, to the time I sleep. Being exposed like this scares me a little. I guess if they did it, so can we. If we want it that bad.

Dancing was how I took out my frustrations. My feet pounding on the floor. I loved the feeling. I loved the sound of my shoes squeaking on the hardwood floor of the studio. For as long as I could remember I wanted to be a dancer. Dancing was my escape. I loved pretending that I was performing in front of thousands of people. Singing was my other love. Someone said I was good, but I didnt believe them. Another person told me I could sing. This time, I pretended not to believe them, when I secretly did. After a while, I had my heart set on being a pop star. Youll never make it, they told me, the same people who told me I could sing. There was a few of them. So when I heard about the auditions, I knew I had to prove them wrong.

The auditions were a great opportunity. It was a little strange. The auditions were across the USA. The strange part? The rules stated that Canadians were allowed to audition. There was only one major problem. There were only 3 cities where auditions were being held. Miami, Florida, L.A. California, and Houston, Texas. I was all the way up in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I dont know why they didnt have auditions in New York. But I DID say it was a little strange.

I heard about them on the radio. Well, The guys of O Town and Backstreet have decided to collaborate on a very special project. Auditions for an up and coming all girl group will be held in Miami, Houston and L.A. And guess what? Theyre letting in the hot girls of Canada! Auditions are next week, a few of the guys will each be in Houston, Miami, or L.A. to scout. So girls, pack your bags and book your flights! We wanna see at least one Canadian in this group! The d.j said before going to a song by O Town. I was so excited when I heard. I was only 17, my mom wasnt about to let me just take off to Florida or California. So I booked the flight to Florida my self and in addition to cleaning my bank account, I borrowed money from my friends. I didnt tell my mom until the night before my flight left.

Mom? I asked

Yeah hun? She answered

Can I go to Florida to audition for a group?

WHAT!? She sounded pretty shocked Absolutely not!

Why not! I yelled

We dont have the money for Florida, She pointed out

Mom, I really want to do this! I exclaimed The flights already booked and paid,

How? She asked

I cleaned my bank account, and borrowed some money from my friends, I answered Its ok, I think I have enough money for food. Ill stay in a cheap motel, Ill probably only be there for a day. And Ill come right back,

When are the auditions?

My flight leaves tomorrow morning and the auditions are that day,

My mom sighed, and looked at me. She looked like she didnt know what to do.

Go pack, she said before sighing again Ill give you the credit card, but for emergency use only, I hugged her for a few minutes before whispering thank you softly in her ear.

"I can't believe you are actually going to do this Kenna" her best friend, Farah said.

"Yea I know, it's still a bit of a shock to me too. But I want this so bad, so I really didn't have a choice about it" Kenna replied. It was the night before her flight and she was sitting in her room packing with her best friend.

"I can't believe you're leaving tomorrow," Farah said

"I know, it's all happened so suddenly" Kenna replied, going thro her closet looking for her dance clothes

"What are you looking for now?" Farah asked

"My dance clothes," Kenna answered

"umm Kennie," Farah said using Kenna's nick name "They're right here,"

"oh my gosh, I can't believe I didn't see them! I'm just so nervous about this whole thing" Kenna said., throwing them into her already overstuffed suitcase.

"Dont worry, you are the best dancer I know, and an awesome singer, you will do fine" Farah said, standing up, and giving her friend a hug

"Thanks girl," Kenna whispered

"No problem," Farah laughed un wrapping her arms from Kenna

"Kenna, if you are really gonna do this, you need your rest" her mother called from the bottom of the stairs.

"You know she's right" Farah said.

"Yea, I know" Kenna said, zipping up her suitcase.

"call me the second you land" Farah said, give Kenna another hug.

"Okay I will" Kenna said after Farah pulled away. "I promise," Kenna said.
