| We made the long drive down to California so that we could be with my family for Kent's mission farewell. He's going to the Porto Portugal mission this month. While there we took a trip to Great America. Everyone had a great time. Conner LOVED going on all the rides. Especially a particular little kid roller coaster that I think he got every single adult & teenager in our group to go along with him. He probably rode it 10 times. Probably the best moment of the day was watching Scott accompany Conner on the Jr. Drop Zone (see picture to the left). Here you see a row of 8 little kids and smack in the middle is a 6'1" adult with his legs hanging well below the rest! We were cracking up the whole time! We ended the day by Scott, Denver, and Mason going on the Extreme Skyflyer (see picture below). That's where they string you up 150 feet in the air, you pull the cord and you go swinging forward. They said it wasn't all that scary. Conner's favorite parts of the trip were swimming in the pool and picking plums in the garden each day. On Sunday in church, Conner performed his first ever solo, "I Hope They Call Me on a Mission". When my parents asked in advance if he could do it we had no worries. Conner spends half of his day singing and he's not very shy. He did such a good job -- we were so proud!! |
